Medium dark red beans ranging from slightly elongated to kidney shape
May contain traces of peanuts and/or tree nuts
Rinse beans and soak in cold water for 8 - 12 hours then rinse again with cold water. Place in saucepan with cold water using 3 cups of water to 1 cup of beans. Bring to the boil then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for approximately 2 hours. Check for desired tenderness as you may need to cook for additional 15 minutes. Remove from heat, add salt & pepper to taste and serve.
