A beige-coloured pea, round and rough texture with a pointed ‘beak’ at one end. Nutty in flavour with a mealy texture when cooked. Great for salads and making Hummus Dip

Soak Chick Peas in water for one hour. Rinse thoroughly, place in saucepan with cold water twice the amount of chick peas and bring to the boil. Simmer for approximately 1 hour. Do a taste test to ensure they are ready as they may require a little longer to cook. Drain and allow to cool.
